Master Bath Remodel Trim Electrical in Vancouver, WA (Orchards)

We did the trim-stage remodel electrical on a master suite remodel in the Orchards area of Vancouver, WA. The job came through Amplified Renovations, a general contractor we partner with. They bring us in for the finish details, the small electrical moves that decide whether a remodel looks built-in or patched together.

This wasn’t a rewire. It was the punch-list electrical between framing and paint, where a few inches in the wrong place is something the homeowner sees every day.

Moving the thermostat

The homeowner asked if the hallway thermostat could move over. The crawlspace hatch was right below it, so you had to stand over the hatch to reach it.

So we moved it:

• Pulled the old low-voltage wire and fished it to a new spot a few feet down the wall
• Kept it clear of the crawlspace hatch so you can still get in
• Set it at a clean height next to the framed niche, not floating in the middle of the wall

It’s a small thing, but it’s at eye level in a hallway everyone walks through every day.

Centering the vanity lights before drywall closes

The bigger fix was the vanity lights. The new layout had a double vanity, and the old light boxes didn’t line up over the two sinks.

We set the boxes so the lights would look even:

1. Each box centered over its sink, not where the old framing put it
2. Spacing even left to right so the lights look planned
3. All of it done before the tile setter closed the wall, because moving a box after tile means tearing it out

When this is done right, nobody notices. Nobody walks into a finished bathroom and thinks about box placement. They just see the lights are centered.

Why GCs hand us the finish electrical

On a remodel, the electrician isn’t the only trade in the room. The tile setter, cabinet installer and painter all need the wall ready on a certain day. Set the boxes late and the tile waits. Set them in the wrong spot and the cabinets don’t fit.

That’s why general contractors keep a short list of electricians they trust on trim day. We show up when the schedule says, do the small stuff right, and get out of the next trade’s way. How we work with GCs is the same on a two-hour punch list as on a full rough-in.
