Three questions before you call

Three things decide whether a Level 2 install is quick and easy or a bigger job:

1. Does the panel have room? Most newer 200-amp panels do. Older 100-amp panels often need a load calculation or a panel upgrade first.
2. How far is the panel from the charger? Next to the panel, like this one, is cheapest. Long runs through finished walls or to a detached garage add labor.
3. What amperage does the charger need? Most charge at 32 or 40 amps on a 40- or 50-amp circuit. A Tesla Wall Connector can go up to 48 amps on a 60-amp circuit.
